I just don’t get it. In order to stimulate the economy, the people need to spend money and feel good about it, just like in the old days of 2007 or so. So, unencumbered by that fact, we try to get people to spend money by giving lots of money to banks and car companies and other non-people !! We are then surprised to find that people are really not spending much more money.
I know this sounds a little bit crazy, but why not give some money to….(wait for it)… the people. It seems to me that there are a lot of them who need some so that they can spend it on things they actually need. Just my $0.02…
Bingo !! Bravo !!
Yes, but won’t the people squander the money on silly things like non-competitive lard-ass automobiles from Detroit and real estate of questionable value ? Better to give it to the smart upper crust who only invest in those things rather than buying them directly 😉
